Tim Norris received his Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from the University of California at Santa Cruz. During his two-year fellowship at the University of Miami, he will assist in building awareness of and educating the University’s research communities in current best practices in data preservation and management planning, including documentation and metadata standards. He will participate in an environmental scan of research data management needs across the University’s schools and colleges; work with relevant staff across units in the development of a data management service focusing mainly on building data resources such as a registry; sharing research experience and expertise with the Libraries’ Education and Outreach department; and working collaboratively with university staff to develop outreach and training strategies for faculty and administrators.
