Install and configure the DDT/MAP remote client for PC Windows
It is easy to install a client version of AllineaTools (DDT + MAP) on your Windows that allows you to launch a Graphical User Interface (GUI) on your local machine and connect to the remote cluster to debug or profile a code. You don’t need a licence to install an Allinea remote client, but the network license is verified when you connect to the cluster. Follow the steps below to install and configure the remote GUI client:
1. Download the PC Windows build executable file
It could be done in one of the following ways:
- copy a client build from pegasus2.ccs.miami.edu location to your local machine. For 32-bit Windows use:

- Download the recent build for your version of Windows (32- or 64-bit) from the AllineaTools website:http://www.allinea.com/products/downloads/download-allinea-ddt-and-allinea-map
2. Run your executable and install the AllineaTools client
Double-click on allinea-tools-client-4.2.1-37994-Windows-6.1-xNN.exe:
Choose “Run” in the next window:
Enter the Allinea Tools Client Setup Wizard, close other applications as recommended, and click “Next”:
Accept the user agreement:
Choose the installation folder:
Create the program’s shortcut in the Start Menu Folder:
Choose if you wish to create desktop icons:
Now you are ready to install, click “Install”:
Wait for the installation to complete…
Complete the installation by clicking “Finish”:
Congratulations!! You are now ready to launch, test, and use Allinea DDT and MAP and connect to the cluster!
3. Launch the Allinea Tools applications
(double-click on either DDT or MAP icon):
Choose to configure the “Remote Launch”:
Configure the remote launch by specifying you login and host information in “Host Name” (replace <USER> by your login name), and setting the “Remote Installation Directory” as shown below, where the AllineaTools license would be verified.
Choose “Test Remote Launch” for testing the login and validating your credentials.
Choose “OK” to start your debugging (DDT) or profiling (MAP) session!
